Downhill Skiing and Boarding

Whitewater Ski Area - Both Ski Canada Magazine and Powder Magazine have raved about our ski conditions. We're known for our champagne powder, spectacular scenery, and laid-back ambience.

"We had a great ski season at Whitewater closing April 17th with a snow base of 370 cms! 40 cms of fresh powder put a smile on all our faces closing weekend. Now we all wait with anticipation for the 2007 season ahead.
Over the summer months the crews will be busy on the mountain with summer maintenance programs, lodge renovations and summer grooming.
We will be offering a full range of fabulous Ski & Stay Packages for the 2007 season.  Combine lift service with cat / heli skiing, a soak in Ainsworth Hot Springs and a spa treatment at one of our unique facilities - all while based in beautiful historic Nelson!"

Cross-Country Skiing

There's nothing better than cross-country skiing on the spectacular Balfour Golf Course.

Up near the Whitewater Ski Resort is the Apex-Busk area.

Wilderness and Back Country Skiing

For the more adventurous, Selkirk Wilderness Skiing, located in Meadow Creek at the north end of Kootenay Lake, offers the exhilaration of back country skiing and virgin powder on every run. Allan Drury is called the Godfather of cat skiing, and he and wife Brenda offer the finest in accommodations and atmosphere for a unique and safe backcountry experience.
